Serbia’s Nis to benefit from Austrian Palfinger, Chinese Yusei Machinery investments

Austrian truck equipment producer Palfinger has announced it will build a EUR 35 mln factory in Nis, which will employ some 375, with construction to begin possibly as early as 2023.

Palfinger will benefit from EUR 4.6 mln in government subsidies, according to reports by the Serbian news site Juzne vesti.

The factory will be built on seven hectares of land outside Nis, according to the Serbian Development Agency, as cited by local media.

The Palfinger Nis investment was not the only industrial news in early January, with Serbia’s ekapija.com also noting that Chinese lighting component company Yusei Machinery has planned a EUR 20 mln investment, also in Nis, with a 15,000 square meter factory to be built near the operating lighting system producer Xingyu Automotive Lighting System’s factor, which is already in operation.
