Serbian Chamber of Commerce opens office in Dubai

In early January the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) announced it has opened in Dubai, the eighth such office world-wide, following offices in Germany, Austria, the Russian Federation, Belgium, Italy, Israel, and China.

The CCIS Representative Office is located in the building of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, with Maja Antolović, the former executive director of DP World from Dubai, which owns the port in Novi Sad, having been appointed director.

Concurrently, the Azerbaijani National Confederation of Organizations of Entrepreneurs (Employers) (ASK) and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry have reportedly signed an agreement on mutual understanding and cooperation, as stated by www.azernews.az, with the purpose of the agreement begin “to expand the prospects for cooperation with business circles operating in Serbia and increase the export-import potential of business entities and investments in both countries.”

“In order to increase the export and investment potential of our country, as well as expand economic ties in accordance with the ASK’s priorities for external relations, we continue to expand cooperation with business support organizations existing in other countries,”  ASK stated on its website.

The site added thatAzerbaijan and Serbia “cooperate in a variety of economic sectors. The Azerbaijan-Serbia Declaration on Strategic Partnership, signed in 2013, and the Joint Action Plan on Strategic Partnership, signed in 2018, and that trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Serbia amounted to USD 10.3 mln from January to November 2022.
