The biomass plant has come through a partnership between the Serbian Energy Ministry and German bank KfW, which together with additional Swiss financing will aid the country in building or modernizing district heating plants in order to use biomass in lieu of fossil fuels, according to SEE News, as cited by Renewableenergy.com.
Some 22 public utility and 30 district heating plants are taking part in the program, according to the Energy Ministry.
Meanwhile, Serbian alternative energy manufacturer DoMi Eko will build a solar panel factory in Velika Plana, although details surrounding the investment have not yet been disclosed.
Should the investment go forward, the factory will be the first of its kind in Serbia, according to SEE News, as cited by Renewableenergy.com.
The 1.2-hectare factory will be located close to the Belgrade-Nis motorway.
DoMi Eko was only founded in July 2022, according to SEE News.
