Serbian government expecting more than EUR 12 bln in investment projects for EXPO27

Serbia is counting on dramatic attendance during the planned EXPO27, with the government projecting more than EUR 12 bln in investment projects and Finance Minster Sinisa Mali harping back to former US President Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal.

“Like when Roosevelt launched the New Deal, we are planning to invest between EUR 12 bln and EUR 14 bln euros in the total project,” Mali said. “We will invest both in the capital and also across Serbia.”

The government expects more than three million visitors to attend EXPO27, and Mali noted while speaking to TV Prva that Serbia must seize the moment and continue progress.

“We need to seize this moment,” Mali stated, adding that Serbia needs to invest smart in preparation for 2027 and work together to make the event a success.
