Serbia Business Run to be held Thursday in Belgrade

Serbia’s largest team-building event, the Schneider Electric Serbia Business Run, consisting of a five-kilometer race where firms and employees will compete individually and as firms, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29 at Ada Ciganlija park in Belgrade.

Founded in 2016, the first Serbian Business Run events were held in Topčider, Belgrade with a handful of runners, but the competition has now grown to include thousands of participants in four cities across the country: Belgrade, Novi Sad, Subotica and Niš.

The series of business races was created with the idea of ​​motivating employers to include the well-being of employee in their business calendar and actively promote healthy lifestyles. The heart of the event is a five-kilometer race in which employees will compete for the fastest team, the fastest colleague or the fittest company. 

In 2016 there were 288 participants from 58 companies, and in 2022, 10.500 participants from 626 companies.

This year’s run will also include for the first time “CO2 offset,” a program to compensate the assumed amount of CO2 created during the races by planting an adequate amount of evergreen trees. This campaign will be implemented in cooperation with the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation with the long-term goal that the most socially responsible companies will contribute donations through planting 100,000 trees by the end of 2025.

A party with music, food and refreshments will follow the race, with Ida Prestar and Lollobrigida in charge.

The Serbia Business Run is traditionally supported by companies for which a healthy lifestyle and activity of employees are essential values. In addition to the title sponsor, the partners of the event are Intersport, VodaVoda, Herbalife, Heineken 0.0, Esensa and Hyatt Regency Belgrade. Each company has contribute through interesting activities or gifts for participants.

Based on the need to contribute to the preservation of the environment, organizers have a five- year goal to become the No. 1 sports event in the region that is fully sustainable.
