OTP banka Srbija enables contactless payment via Google Pay

The service is available for OTP banka´s Mastercard users starting August 23 on Android mobile phones and smart watches that support NFC technology.
Users will be able to store debit cards for Google Pay within Google Wallet, a digital wallet that is also launching in Serbia today. All that is required for installation is to add a debit card to the Google Wallet application (which can be downloaded from Google Play Store) and then click on the “+” sign. When OTP banka Srbija clients adds card to own device, they can immediately start using Google Pay by touching the device to the POS terminal.
Thanks to the security measures that have been developed, unlike traditional payment cards, Google Pay does not allow merchants to see the card number, because the new token is generated during each transaction, so the card data remains hidden.
Vuk Kosovac, member of the Executive board for retail and digital in OTP banka Srbija, stated on this occasion: “OTP banka, as the no.1 creditor of the corporate and retail sector and a market leader in factoring, leasing and e-commerce services, is focused on innovation and digitization of its business, which provides clients with new benefits with a focus on improving digital banking and user experience. By introducing Google Pay, we once again confirm our leadership position and orientation towards the needs of our clients. In addition to being very practical to use, payments with OTP payment cards through Google Pay are extremely secure thanks to the NFC technology.”
Back in 2019, OTP banka was one of the first to introduce the possibility of using a mobile phone with an Android operating system as a payment card through mCard service, which includes payments via a digital Mastercard within the m-bank app, while in 2020 users of the iOS operating system, i.e. iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or Mac device enabled by Apple pay service.
Thanks to the presence of OTP banka in 91 cities with 185 branches, clients across Serbia have access to a wide range of products and services, an efficient service and offers tailored to their specific needs, while the network of almost 300 ATMs is the largest in our country.
