Leading US IoT deign manufacturer Ikotek expands to Belgrade

Ikotek USA, Inc., a leading IoT original design manufacturer (ODM) and electronics manufacturing service (EMS) provider from the USA, publicly announced at the end of July an “expanded presence with the establishment of an office in Belgrade, Serbia, as part of its dedication to global growth.”

„We are thrilled to expand our footprint in Serbia, a country known for its technological prowess and exceptional talent pool,” said Joe Peterson, CEO, Ikotek, in a company press release. „Our investment in Serbia reflects our confidence in the country’s potential and our commitment to serving our clients with the highest level of excellence.

“We look forward to working closely with local partners and contributing to Serbia’s thriving technology ecosystem,” he added.

Headquartered in San Diego, California, Ikotek’s core focus is on the enterprise market as it looks to develop ODM solutions to take full advantage of IoT, covering technologies from cellular connectivity, including NB-IoT and 5G, to satellite connections and from well-established IT to relative newcomers such as artificial intelligence IoT (AIoT).

Serbia has of late emerged as an ideal destination for Ikotek’s expansion plans. The country’s favourable business environment, strong infrastructure, and pro-innovation policies provide an excellent foundation for Ikotek’s operations in the region.

The company said that this strategic decision strengthens Ikotek’s standing as a significant player in the technology industry, while also improving its capacity to provide inventive solutions to clients worldwide. Ikotek has also augmented its EMEA leadership team by welcoming Vladimir Rakic as the Ikotek EMEA R&D Director and Jure Gantar as the Regional Sales Director for EMEA.

The company also said that the establishment of the Belgrade office is expected to create a substantial number of highly skilled employment opportunities in the region, further strengthening Serbia’s position as a technology hub for development of embedded IoT solutions for tier 1 OEMs.

„I’m thrilled to be joining Ikotek during this exciting phase as we aim to broaden the company’s reach in Europe,” said Vladimir Rakic, EMEA R&D director at Ikotek. „I am eager to lead our growth in this market with the local team to provide exceptional service to our customers.”

“Having worked in the IoT market for many years, I can see a lot of business opportunities for Ikotek in the EMEA region and am looking forward to meeting them,” he added. “With operations in Europe, we will be even faster in providing end-to-end ODM and EMS services” said Jure Gantar, EMEA sales director.

The company did not release the value of current investment in Serbia or planned employment figures.
