Continental Automotive Serbia’s new EUR 140 mln factory to open Feb. 23

Continental Automotive is scheduled to open a new, EUR 140 mln, 30,000 square-meter factory Feb. 23, per an announcement by the mayor of Novi Sad and Continental Automotive officials.

The factory stands in Kac Industrial Zone and will manufacture, among other products, interior vehicle displays, according to Novi Sad Mayor Milan Djuric, Continental Automotive Serbia General Manager Sasha Cioringa, Factory Manager Edwin van der Kaa and Finance Manager Nikola Gulovic, as cited by Balkanengineer.com.

The factory investment—Continental’s second in Serbia—was announced in 2021, and it will specialize in interior electronics. It was previously expected to be open in September 2022, as construction work was on schedule as of July 2022.

The factory has been advertised as being a “mega factory” four times larger than the first production plant opened in North Zone 4 in Novi Sad.
