Chinese manufacturer opens third, EUR 40 mln refrigerator factory in Valjevo

Chinese electronics manufacturer Hisense officially opened a  refrigerator production plant in Valjevo, which promises to bring up to 1,000 new jobs to the city.

“People are the ones who will translate our great vision into reality,” said Hisense Europe CEO Hanson Han. “I am proud to announce that here in Valjevo, as many as 1,000 new employees will soon become part of our Hisense family.”

The 35,000-square-meter facility is now the third Hisense factory to be opened in Valjevo. The investment has been valued at EUR 40 mln, and the new factory means that the company will now employ more than 10,000 persons in Europe, according to Han.

The factory is slated to produce 750,000 appliances per year, and the three factories together will produce 1,700,000 appliances by 2025.

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended the opening ceremony, calling the investment highly important for the country.
