The opening was attended by Grundfos’s Serbian director, Veljko Todorovic, as well as by Danish Ambassador Suzan Shain, who highlighted current cooperation between the two countries.
The new, 17,000 square-meter investment was valued at EUR 21 mln and is slated to become the largest such factory in the world, according to www.aroj.net.
During the cornerstone ceremony Vucic also took a moment to reflect on pressures placed on Serbia by the West and the tremendous challenges facing both Serbia and Europe—although what was also made clear is the recent boom in investment—including manufacturing investment—in Serbia, which has been somewhat lacking in the EU.
The EU has voiced its disapproval with a new consulting/cooperation plan that was signed between Russia and Serbia only days after Russian mobilization.
