Recent press release by digital engineering group VRIZE and technical innovator IBA Group both promised coming development centers, although both companies were holding investment details close to their respective chests.
IBA Group recently announced the opening of IBA Beograd, a new development center located in Belgrade, the capital and the largest city of the Republic of Serbia

In a press release published by the company, Svetlana Golyak, IBA Beograd Director, said:
“Opening the development center in Serbia, we aim to provide additional relocation options for IBA Group employees. We are also looking to expand our staff and client base and in the region, taking into account the expertise we accumulated throughout the company’s history.”
Serbia Monthly reached out to the company in order to gain further information, but a company representative stated that it is too early to release a value for the investment or approximate employment figures.
According to the company, to date, Serbia is the 15th country, where IBA Group has permanent presence and the ninth country where IBA Group has development centers. IBA Group’s expansion in the Balkans, the third largest peninsula in Europe, is driven by an increasing demand for IT services in Southeastern and Central Europe, and is in line with the company’s strategy to be close to its clients.
IBA Group began working in the region in 2017, establishing IBA Bulgaria in Burgas, the fourth largest city of Bulgaria. In early 2022, the company opened IBA Croatia, an office in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. IBA Beograd became the third company’s office in the Balkans.
Currently, IBA Group implements mainframe custom development, migration to new technologies, cloud-based, and other IT projects in the region for clients in the ICT, banking, logistics, and other industries.
Likewise, in a press release provided by VRIZE, Sept. 13, the company announced the opening of VRIZE’s first European Development Center, which would be “strategically located in the heart of beautiful Belgrade, Serbia.”
The company noted Serbia’s “highly skilled and impressive IT talent base,” and that it “couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to work with such a talented community while expanding our global footprint in a country like Serbia […].”
The company was founded in 2020 by a passionate team of digital engineering experts, VRIZE has grown to a company of more than 300+ employees. The team is an aggregation of experienced professionals with client partnerships across the US, Canada, Europe, and India with operational delivery centers in Dallas, Toronto, and Bengaluru (Bangalore).
Again, no details were noted, but, hey, in these turbulent times indicative is good.
Meanwhile, according to the www.ekapija.com new site, Czech CE Industries will continue to expand in Serbia, with plans for Vojvodina and ongoing presentation to that provincial government.
CE Industries is the owner of Beohemija Zrenjanin and co-owner of the Sombor-based car battery plant Black Horse. It currently controls more than 20 companies in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Serbia and employs more than 2,500 workers.
