Air Serbia continues to work toward turning Belgrade into a key European flight hub, and beginning April 15 the airline will launch direct flights to Lisbon, Portugal to the tune of two flights a week between Belgrade Airport and Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado, the airline said Monday, Feb. 20.
“There has been lots of interest for launching flights between Belgrade and Lisbon, and now I’m happy to announce that Air Serbia will launch its first route to Portugal in April,” said Air Serbia General Manager Commercial and Strategy Boško Rupić.
“I believe that this news will make passengers happy,” he added. “By adding Lisbon to our network, we are opening the doors of Portugal’s capital, which has 290 sunny days a year, on average, and the temperature rarely falls below 15 degrees.”
Rupić added that Air Serbia will provide good connections from Lisbon via Belgrade to Athens, Larnaca, Istanbul, Zurich, Podgorica, Bucharest, Skopje, Ohrid, Thessaloniki, Sofia, Budapest, Vienna, Zagreb, Tivat, Tirana, Ljubljana, Sarajevo, and many others in its network.
Meanwhile, following a series of such announcements, the airline is expanding also with regard to personnel, as Air Serbia published a new call for cabin crew members, described as “the biggest one in the last five years, with the plan to select dozens of candidates which will join the Serbian national airline’s team.”
“There is great demand for working at Air Serbia,” said Milica Netković, GM People and Performance, Air Serbia. “Candidates for different positions reach out to us every day.
“With the expansion of our operations, a need to expand the cabin crew team arose,” she added. “That team is very important to us, because its members are in contact with the passengers every day, and they represent the face of the company.”
